Who are you?
We're a family-run butchers based in Scotland, proud to have been serving our local community for generations. We specialise in premium Aberdeen Angus beef, sourced from trusted local farms, prepared using traditional butchery skills passed down through the family.
Why Aberdeen Angus?
Aberdeen Angus is one of Scotland's finest native breeds, prized around the world for its exceptional marbling, tenderness, and rich, full flavour. It's simply some of the best beef you can put on a plate, and we're proud to champion a breed with such strong Scottish roots.
Where does your beef come from?
Our beef comes from carefully selected farms across Scotland, all of whom share our commitment to animal welfare, sustainable farming, and quality. We know our farmers personally, and many of our supplier relationships go back years.
Is all your beef Aberdeen Angus?
Our beef counter focuses on Aberdeen Angus, though we also stock a range of other quality meats and produce. If you're after something specific, just ask — we're happy to point you in the right direction.
How do you ensure quality?
Every animal is carefully selected, and every carcass is hung and matured to bring out the best flavour and texture. We inspect each cut ourselves before it reaches the counter, so you can trust what you're buying.
Do you dry-age your beef?
Yes. We dry-age our beef on-site for a minimum of 21 days (longer for some cuts), which develops a deeper, richer flavour and improves tenderness. Ask in-store about our current aging times for specific cuts.
Is your meat traceable?
Absolutely. We can tell you which farm your beef came from, and we're happy to share that information if you're curious. Full traceability is something we take seriously.
Do you offer grass-fed or organic options?
We work with several farms who rear their cattle on traditional grass pasture. Availability of organic-certified beef can vary — ask our team about what's currently in stock.
What cuts do you sell?
We stock the full range — from everyday favourites like mince, stewing steak, and sausages, to premium cuts such as ribeye, sirloin, fillet, and T-bone. We also prepare speciality items like haggis, burgers, and marinated joints.
Can I order in advance?
Yes, and for larger cuts, special occasions, or Christmas orders, we'd really encourage it. You can order by phone, in person, or via our website (if applicable) — just let us know what you need and when.
Do you do made-to-order joints for special occasions?
We do. Whether it's a Sunday roast, a wedding, or a Burns Night supper, we can prepare joints and cuts to your exact requirements — just give us a few days' notice where possible.
Can I request a specific cut or thickness?
Of course. We're a proper butchers, not a supermarket counter — tell us how you like your steak cut, how thick, or how much fat trimmed, and we'll do it while you wait.
Do you sell haggis, black pudding, or other Scottish specialities?
Yes — our haggis and black pudding are made using traditional recipes, and they're firm customer favourites, especially around Burns Night.
Do you cater for large events or bulk orders?
We do. Whether it's a barbecue, a shoot lunch, or a wedding, get in touch with your requirements and we'll put together a quote.
Do you deliver?
Yes, we offer local delivery and mainland uk delivery.
Can I collect my order in-store?
Yes, in-store collection is available for all pre-orders. We'll let you know when your order is ready.
How is delivered meat kept fresh?
All deliveries are chilled and packed with care to maintain freshness, using insulated packaging where needed for longer journeys.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Saturday, 7am - 5pm. Closed on Sunday. Please check our shop front or website as these can vary around holidays and Christmas.
Do you take card payments?
Yes, we accept card and contactless payments as well as cash.
Do you cater for dietary requirements?
While we're a traditional butchers focused on meat, we're happy to advise on leaner cuts, portion sizes, or preparation methods to suit your needs. Please let us know of any allergies when ordering prepared products like sausages or burgers.
How should I store my meat?
Fresh beef should be kept refrigerated and used within the timeframe advised by our staff at purchase — generally 2–3 days for most cuts, though this can vary. Most cuts also freeze well; we're happy to advise on the best way to do this.
